  • A clue, not an outline. Each page gives part of a drawing and one line underneath, like "this cylinder bottle hides a little secret."
  • Four books with different themes. ABC & 123, Shapes & Patterns, Animals, and Faces & Feelings.
  • They draw it first, then color it in. Nothing on the page tells them what the right answer looks like. Your child explores freely.
  • No two come back the same. Give the same clue to two children and you get two different pictures. Ages 3 to 8.

WHAT THIS BOOK ACTUALLY IS

Let's be straight about it.

Traditional coloring books says: Follow the lines, stay inside the shapes.

This book: Provides part of the drawing and a question. Where is the porcupine for these spikes? They work out what is missing, draw it, and then color in the thing they invented.

What it is not: a drawing lesson, a school workbook, or something that will make a child good at art. Nobody can honestly promise that, and we are not going to.

What it is: four books that help encourage a child to be creative. Clear prompts and easy to start pictures, for a child to showcase their art.

Is this book for you?

If any of these sound like you, yes.

Not every book is for every family. Here's who this one is genuinely for.

The child who already draws

They enjoy drawing and you keep buying blank papers. This gives them a guided prompt to explore more, somewhere new to put it their creative mind.

The child who stops drawing on a blank page

Starting is usually the hard part. Part of it is drawn already, so there is something on the paper to react to rather than nothing.

Two children who compete

Give them the same clue and you get two different pictures back. A friendly activity that allows them to showcase to each other.

Nod at even one? You're exactly who we curated this for.

Story Cards

Thirty questions to ask once the drawing is done. Who is this, what is in their pockets, what do they do when nobody is looking. The picture turns into a story, and nobody has to be good at drawing for that part.

Our curation process

How this book earned its place

Before a title reaches our shelf, we ask four simple questions. Here's how this one answered.

01 ·Is it genuinely useful?

Yes. It does one thing, which is give a child an easier place to start drawing and nurtures creativity.

02 ·Is it clear?

Yes. There is no instruction to read. A child works out what to do from looking at the page.

03 ·Does it respect the reader?

Yes. There is no correct version to be measured against, so nothing a child does with it can be wrong.

04 ·Would we recommend it to a friend?

Yes, and that’s the real test. We would hand a friend this book for their kids.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered

Are the four books different, or the same book four times? +

Different. ABC & 123 draws each letter as the animal it stands for. Shapes & Patterns turns a triangle or a cylinder into an object. Animals is animals. Faces & Feelings is expressions and small situations, like a kid losing a race.

My child says they cannot draw. Is this going to frustrate them? +

These are built for exactly that. There is part of a picture there already, so they are not starting from nothing, and no version printed anywhere to fall short of. If it frustrates them anyway, the guarantee covers it.

What age is this for? +

The covers say three to eight. The younger end works best with crayons and someone nearby to read the caption out. The older end tends to take it seriously and spend a long time on one page.

Do we need special pens? +

No. Crayons, pencils and ordinary felt tips all work.

How long does shipping take? +

Orders are processed within 1–3 business days and typically arrive within 4–12 business days after orders are shipped, depending on destination country. Shipping duration will be advised when you list your address. You'll receive a tracking link by email as soon as your order ships.

Is this a physical book or an ebook? +

A physical print. The companions are digital downloads you keep forever.

What if I don't like it? +
